What is NMN?

Purovitalis NMN

What is NMN?

Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) is a molecule naturally occurring in all life forms. It is already existing in your body and permanently used and consumed by all your cells. Like nicotinamide riboside (NR), NMN is an alternative form of Vitamin B3 (Niacin). NAD+ increases the major energy resource of the body, balances the circadian rhythm, and enables hundreds of enzymatic reactions – many of which delay ageing.

Nicotinamide Mononucleotide is found in some common natural foods. For example broccoli and avocado, but not enough to support your ongoing and increasing demands. Broccoli, cabbage, and avocado have about 1mg NMN per 100g, well short of the hundreds of milligrams your body requires every day.

Taking Purovitalis Liposomal Nicotinamide Mononucleotide in the morning and afternoon, works closely alongside your body’s energy cycles for a long-lasting energy supply to your cells.

Increasing your body's NAD+ levels might help.

Lifespan benefits of increased levels of NAD+ by increasing your NAD levels. Might help with: DNA Repair, Mental Health, Increase Cellular Energy, Muscle Strength, Prevent Obesity, Healthy Ageing

Stay vital as you get older

More NAD+ is needed to help repair and power your cells as you get older, this helps us understand why NAD+ levels drop with aging. Taking NMN supplements can help sustain your health and longevity by increasing the body's protection capability. Reversing the natural decline that occurs as you become older. Preserve your fundamental aspects of your vitality: body and brain energy levels, memory and immunity.

  • Promotes healthy ageing for a vital lifespan.
  • Support natural brain health.
  • Boosts your cellular energy levels .
  • Natural cellular repair at its best
  • Improves muscle strength
  • Increases NAD+, which helps to repair DNA damage.

Boost your body with NMN

Nicotinamide Mononucleotide is used to power your cell's vital activities. For example, fine-tuning your energy balance, and keeps your body in good condition. Essentially, by increasing the amount of another important molecule known as NAD+.

NAD+ is vital for hundreds of functions that keeps your cells healthy, and plays a powerful role on critical immune pathways. NAD+ has the ability to repair DNA damage and sirtuin gene silencing that are linked to aging and a decrease in the mitochondrial activity.

Frequently asked questions about NMN

NMN supplements are one of the most popular supplements among the longevity pathway as more alternatives become available. NMN has a lot of advantages. You now know the answer to what is NMN. However, more questions may arise while buying for NMN.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions:

What is the difference between NMN and NAD?

Nicotinamide mononucleotide is a direct precursor of NAD+, also known as Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, which means it is formed by a sequence of chemical processes. NAD+ is a molecule found in all cells of the body, although its levels naturally decline as we age. It is thought to be a vital part in increasing NAD+ levels in cells. NMN can reach cells in the gut, liver, pancreas, and fatty tissue relatively fast.

Which is better NMN or NR?

Two well-known NAD+ precursors are Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN) and Nicotinamide Riboside (NR). NMN has an added phosphate group. Because of the additional phosphate group, NMN is a bigger molecule than NR. Nicotinamide Mononucleotide is a direct precursor to NAD+. Before converting to NAD+, NR must be converted to NMN. In the blood, NMN seems to be more stable. The advantages of raising NAD levels are similar for both NMN and NR. Looking at research done with NMN and NR, it appears that NMN has greater and more extensive effects than NR. Read our full article on this comparison.

How to take NMN?

NMN is taken orally, by ingesting capsules, drops or powder, or by adding it into a drink or meal. Our Liposomal product is well absorbed when swallowed. Read our full article on how to take NMN powder.

What age can you start taking NMN supplement?

We recommend taking NMN at the age of 35 since our NAD+ levels have dropped to half of what they were in our youth due to the decline in NAD levels that occurs with age; as a result, cells and organs slowly become less efficient.

How much NMN should I take per day?

The right amount of NMN to take depends on a variety of factors, including the person's age, health, and other factors. Studies have shown that older people above 60 that were administered 250 mg per day for 6 or 12 weeks has increased their muscle strength. This doesn't mean 250 mg is the right dose, but a good indication. There still needs a lot of studies to be done before we can have a clear answer to this question.

How long does it take for NMN to start working?

Our Liposomal NMN is rapidly absorbed from the stomach into the bloodstream and cleared from the bloodstream into cells within 15 minutes. It takes a few weeks for NAD+ to begin renewing cells with daily intake of NMN.

Is Nicotinamide Mononucleotide safe to take?

The scientists are doing comprehensive research on the properties, benefits, dosage, and effects of Nicotinamide Mononucleotide on human health. To date, there are no potential side effects found. A lot of clinical trials are under process and researchers are confident enough about their positive results.

Recent studies show that taking 250 mg/day orally for 12 weeks in healthy old men was safe, well tolerated, and significantly increased NAD+ and NAD+ associated metabolites in the whole blood.
